The WYORCA story

Recognizing the need for improved recreation facilities in Western Yolo County, a group of community volunteers formed the Western Yolo Recreation Center Association, WYORCA, in 2001.

We are a non-profit corporation dedicated to raising funds for the construction of a community swimming pool and recreation facility serving the communities of Madison, Esparto, Capay, Brooks, Guinda, and Rumsey in the Capay Valley region.

WYORCA would like to thank the following major project partners for supporting the construction of the Esparto Park and Aquatic Center :

  • California State Department of Parks and Recreation
  • County of Yolo
  • Esparto Unified School District
  • Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation

The park project was made possible by the collaboration of many partners working with community volunteers to build a new park and swimming pool in Esparto. After over a decade of concerted efforts by community volunteers and the investment by major project donors, the new park and pool has become a reality. Park construction begins in March of 2018. The Esparto Park and Aquatic Center will be completed in January 2019. Thanks to all who were dedicated to making the park happen. It's a dream come true.

WYORCA is selling ceramic tiles for the Esparto Park and Aquatic Center Giving Wall. To purchase a tile or to make a contribution to name a major park feature, click here. The last day to order a tile is September 30, 2018.

 Just imagine...

  • Where old and young can gather to enjoy the health benefits of exercise or just to have fun.

WYORCA is working to make this happen.

A swimming pool complex with 25 meter lanes for both competitive and recreational swimming.

A shallow wading area for the youngest kids.

Complete locker, shower, restroom and changing facilities.

Grassy picnic areas.

A multi-purpose facility for exercise classes and community meetings.
